n our first part of the Lumia 1020 review, we tested its 41MP camera. Now it’s time to share with you our impressions from of the phone.

Lumia 1020 is hardly different from the other Lumia devices in terms of appearance.

This display on this Lumia offers a 4.5-inch diagonal

It has kept the no-gap unibody spirit and fit into a polycarbonate body. At least there is a matte finish on top, to make it easy to hold and use. This handset feels quite solid and bulky in the hand. Its weight is exactly 158g and looked from the side the phone is 10.4 inches thick.. Well, all that camera hardware had to go somewhere right? Lumia 1020 is not exactly the most ergonomic handset out there. Since the back panel is almost flat and the handset itself quite wide I didn’t feel comfortable using it. It just didn’t fit right in my hand.

This display on this Lumia offers a 4.5-inch diagonal at the same resolution we had on the 920 and 925.

The display technology Nokia used here is AMOLED PureMotion HD+ which is exactly the same as the one used on their flagship – the 925. We enjoyed previewing our photos on this wide screen as the details are sharp thanks to the 332ppi density. The blacks are deep and clear. They are hardly distinguishable from the black bezel on the sides. The screen pops out even out in the sunlight and the viewing angles are wide. The display is protected by the latest generation Gorilla Glass 3 layer.

Yes the 1020 is basically a point and shoot camera installed into a smartphone.

But the company has not neglected the performance and productivity of the smartphone. Its results in the performance test were identical to those of the 925 flagship. The 1020 also comes with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8960 Snapdragon at 1.5GHz, which scores excellent results even loaded with many open applications and browse pages. The only difference is that instead of 1, there are 2GB of system memory to provide smoothness of the running applications and the complex camera software.

The phone comes with plenty of internal memory – 32GB so you will probably not suffer from the lack of a memory card slot here. Nokia Lumia 1020 is able to connect via NFC and also supports wireless charging which is pretty handy.

The large 2000mAh battery piece inside is non-removable. We were pretty satisfied with the battery life on this camera phone. It provides enough juice for this powerful camera to function along with other applications and multiple browse pages.

You can find the Nokia Lumia 1020 handset in three colors: black, white and yellow.
